ABOUT
On a Saturday soon after New Year's Day each year thousands gather under the Taranaki sun for the Opunake Beach Carnival which has been going strong since the early 1990's.

Run by the Opunake Beach Committee with fabulous support from local businesses, the carnival hosts a range of activities which the committee is busy finalizing at the moment.
​
Entry is free, but there is plenty of opportunities to spend a little with food and craft stalls and activities set up around the field.

STAGE ZONE
Located in the Dell, find a spot for the day in front of the Stage and enjoy the entertainment of the Annual Pageant & Mr Muscle! Hear Raffle announcements and live entertainment throughout the day.
This has been a long time favourite at the carnival and it involves hundreds of children digging in the sand to find a winning popsicle stick.
