SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!
Starting at 10am and running through until mid-afternoon,3ish, the Opunake Beach Carnival has something for the whole family to enjoy. Food, music, entertainment, prizes, and the stunning beach venue to top it all off! The organising team is busy working on some activities this year so check back here for updates.
THE BIG DIG!
This has been a long time favourite at the carnival and it involves hundreds of children digging in the sand to find a winning popsicle stick. The Big Dig will be on at a time confirmed closer to the day, depending on tides, down on the main beach. Registrations will be taken on the day, and in the gazebo to the left side of the stage.
There are three sections and everyone gets a prize! There are also some awesome major prizes!
CRAFT & FOOD STALLS
Treat your taste buds with hot and cold delights brought to you from an array of local food vendors and take a look at some of the works from talented Taranaki arts and crafts people.
BABY TOTS, MIGHTY MUSCLES & MISS OPUNAKE
Always a headline act at the beach carnival - the various competition categories allow for lots of people to get involved and strut their stuff on stage. If you or someone you know wants to be part of it this year, here's how to enter!
HOURLY RAFFLES
There are quick draw raffles drawn each hour from 11am - 3pm with great prizes to be won.
Get in early as your tickets stay in the barrel for the day. So the earlier you purchase them, the more chances you have. These are on sale to the left of the stage with a Grande Finale Prize Draw at 3pm.
